BARON's CUP

THE BARON's CUP

Mentioned in numerous prestigeous institutions, publications and internet sites, the best description comes from Wikipedia:

"The Baron's Cup is a Beautifully decorated Tall Boy Bottle of Beck's with mould growing inside it. Many Footballers claim that drinking from the sacred Flask imbues the spirit of Pele, der Bomber and Maradona within them. Other simply pass out from the resulting poisoning after a wild trip. In any event, players have bragged about winning it for years."

Each team must have at least six players and a goalie.
It is possible for teams to rotate the goalie
It is possible for teams to have more players to act as substitutes.
There are no team minimums or maximums for males or females.

Game Play:
Indoor rules apply with the following changes listed below
No rough play of any kind (slide tackles, pushing, etc)
Fighting results in an immediate expulsion
Shoulder to shoulder action is fine
Two halves will be played. Time duration will depend on the number of teams
Three yellow cards will result in a game suspension
A red card is an automatic expulsion from the rest of the tournament
We play in a round robin format, each team playing each team twice.
Playoffs are played in a two game aggregate.

Special Note:
The Baron's Cup is a friendly game. It is not meant to be played at full throttle.
While everyone wants to win the world's most coveted Trophy, everyone needs to resume their lives free of unintentional injury.
Use judgement when drilling a ball, or going for a 50-50 ball.
Fun is the object of the game, not putting your opponent into the hospital.
Sportsmanship is the main focus of this friendly tournament.
Use skill and determination to win.
Those who get antagonistic or too rough will be ejected!
This is a tournament to celebrate our love of the game.

Post Tournament
Should there be enough time, those willing will participate in a free play
Depending upon the number of players, we will use a full sized field

Spectators
Although millions will be watching from home, spectators are allowed to watch on field.
We are attempting to organize a charity drive at the time with a very small donation. (not in 2018)
