APRIL 1st INDOOR PRACTICE

Captain Ian Inaugurates Partnership with FAW

In an historic motion, two bitter enemies have come together to form a lasting partnership.

"I think this has been blown out of proportion," said a heated Commissioner Campbell,"I've never had anything against Captain Ian"

"The press has been putting things into print that just aren't right," retorted the vengeful Captain Ian,"the Commissioner and I haven't even met'

Reporters were on hand for the awkward hand shaking, which pitted two men in a strange game of attempting to squeeze the life out of the other. One woman fainted after Captain Ian disguised a slap on Campbell's back with an evil laugh.

"Never in the history of the sport," said Gerry Dobson,"have I witnessed such seething of emotional distrust between the two."

"That' right Gerry," returned washed up footballer Craig Forrest,"it almost appeared that hostilities would break out any moment."

Players from both leagues were quick to criticize the handling of this issue by the press.

"You guys like to blow things like this outta the park," commented Pat,"but it's nothing like that"

While some remain ignorant, count on the press to catch the latest news.

First game, April 1st, and that's no joke.

OUTDOOR TEAM PRACTICES

New Season, New logo, New vision
Welcome to Sparta FC practices.

During the month of April, we'll be practicing in the FAW indoor arena.

A few drills, followed by some fast paced indoor soccer to get used to each other. 4 on 4, including the goalie. Subs come in during the action.

We ask that each player bring $5 as a one time donation to cover the costs of the gym. Please see the links on this page to see where you're going.

Each Friday, from 2015h to 2200h we'll practice and play...except for Good Friday which is a holiday. April 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th.

Please bring a WHITE shirt and BLACK shirt. Teams will be decided based upon the available players.

In May we'll grind our team on the outdoor fields. Two friendly games are planned as well.

Please plan to attend most of these. They'll be fun, but we also need a minimum of people to attend or else we'll lose our permit. Twenty one people are signed up for the team, so we should count on atleast 14 a night.

FAW players will also make an appearance as the weeks go on, including the vaunted FAW-FAD Cup.

Sparta FC -- New Look for 2011

Sooooper Star Justin is Signed!
A jubilant Captain Ian paraded the new stars of Sparta FC today.

"It's a great day for the team," said Ian," We saved money switching to Geiko"
When asked about the new signees, the Spartan Captain was more reserved.
"Yeah, we did well."

"I'm hearing things like, Fil won the Golden Orange. Baron scored the only winning goal. Fernando's the best looking," commented Super Star Justin," but you're all just losers with a capital W. I'll set the new standard in Darlington soccer."
While reporters from Oshawa this Week and the Whitby Free Press looked on, Justin displayed his mad skillz, easily kicking the ball between his legs.
"We were awed," one reporter who cannot be mentioned stated before fainting.

Other players were more reserved with their comments, although no one really listened to what they had to say.

"The next step," instructed the ex-Bundesliga star Baron,"is to pick out our cheerleading crew. A casting couch will be set up, and all applicants must pass a routine hands on inspection."

Registration Closes : March 8th

Thousands of Families line up for Registration!
While many will attempt to join the widely popular Spartan Football Club, many  more will be rejected.

This from Captain Ian and The Baron, as they pour through references, applications and bribes.

"One hopeful sent pictures of his mother naked," said Baron,"unfortunately we're not into 70 year olds and flap jacks"

"While we make every effort to re-sign some of the top players from last year," said Captain Ian," the fact is that only those who sign up before March 8th are guaranteed a spot"

If you're interested in playing for the Spartans this year, please contact Captain Ian, The Baron or the Darlington League immediately. All will have the necessary paperwork to accept registrations and payment.

You can also post questions, and someone will answer you within hours. Be sure to leave your email address in header field so that we can get back to you.
