MASS HYSTERIA FOR SPARTAN FANS

MUSICAL FIELDS AS SPARTANS DON'T KNOW WHERE THE FIELDS ARE!

It's at Darlington Arena, no it's at Courtice, NO...it's at...
It was utter madness last weekend as Fans and Players alike were confused by moving fields.

"We were playing at Darlington Arena," stated Assistant Captain Jason," and then suddenly, almost like divine intervention, the field shifted to Darlington Hydro Fields."

Buses were re-routed, and a shocked Jeremy sat and wept openly when he discovered the location differences.

"It was horrible, even more horrible than the Hindenburg tragedy," Jeremy said as he spoke to reporters, " I wondered if it were indeed the end of days."

But others were not fooled by the chicanery of tables and fixtures.

Player Brad, local practitioner of the arcane arts, was not fooled.

"I simply took a picture with my hand held device. This clearly pointed to the proper zone. I really didn't need Christopher Columbus or Mr Sulu to plot a course," Brad offered.

Coach and Owner Baron could not hold in the laughter as he hit the field.
"Those guys on the radio had some Bieber joke...absolutely hilarious."

STRONG SHOWING FROM OUR SPARTANS

OUR HEROES STYMIE THEIR STRONGER OPPONENTS WITH TEAM WORK

Nelson showing the power of Skill
It was a great game for our local heroes.

Not much was expected from the fans as the 2016 ENERGIE SPARTANS FC took to the field.
Another hodge podge of talented players that the Baron had collected for the summer contest.

But our men decided to make a game of it.
With a strong and stifling defence, the Spartans kept their opponents from any real chances.

Early in, a penalty kick was awarded, and Keeper Nelson simply swatted the offering away.

Some foreshadowing in the first half as the good guys displayed numerous chances on the opposing Keeper.

As it was, by half time, the score was 1-0 for the Spartans.

The second half began much as we had expected.
The enemy came at us forcefully and constantly.
But the formation held it off.

While many players seemed to get better as the game moved on, the formation deteriorated.
What had been a suffocating defence now became disjointed.

This gave the Visitors some great chances.
By the 66th minute, the pressure yielded an own goal, tying the game.

Minutes later, some sloppy playing created another Penalty Kick, which found the twine over the injured Nelson.

Although the game ended in a loss, our boys have shown that they can dance with the best of teams.
It promises to be a spectacular season.
