REGULAR SEASON ENDS

SPARTANS ENJOY A REC MATCH IN THE SECOND HALF

Baron Makes a Penalty Kick Save
Our last game of the season was certainly an interesting one!

Only eight men showed up for the game.
That's a problem where we have a 17 man roster left.
From a total of 22 players at season beginning.

Luckily, we faced eleven opponents.

WE played the game, and realized once again that had we eleven men, this was another winner.
There was  lot of heart in this game, and so many chances.
Chalk it up to experience.

Now we enter the playoffs.
Every able bodies man needs to be there.
We need to take the lessons of the season and run with it.

Here's to the playoffs!

SPARTANS MAKE IT SO CLOSE

GAME SEES BEST EFFORT FROM OUR HEROES!

Always important to cover up when in the WALL
GUYS,

It was just one of those games.

The Renegades thought that this would be just another easy game.
They pressed and pressed, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Then they scored, at about the 30th minute, and that gave them hope.
Again, for an easy three points.

When we scored from that incredible kick, the game changed.

And when we had those other chances, we knew that this team had come together.

Now...
Yes we lost.

But remember that we didn't have any of our forwards.
In fact, Ramon or Curtis would have had a field day against their defensive works.
But we made do with what we had.
And that's the mark of a growing team.

HAPPY LABOUR DAY

SPARTANS PLAY THE MONDAY CLASSIC

My fellow Spartans,

Labour Day often marks the end of summer for many in Canada.
In our area, it simply means the end of summer with the kids NOT in school.
Our summer often sees its end Thanksgiving weekend.

I wanted to spend a few moments talking about improvement.

I've been reminiscing this weekend.
Thinking of years past, but also the start of the season.

Many of us were untried, untested.
But I've seen a remarkable improvement in many of you.
You're finally getting your groove.

And in a REC league, that's the main point.
You're playing not only to have fun, but to improve in many ways.

Here's to another game of learning...adapting and overcoming!
