TWO WEEK REVIEW

BARON REVIEWS HIS TEAMS JUST BEFORE THE YEAR END GAME!

'Nuff said

Spartans!

It's been a few weeks since I've updated our Blog...and for good reason.

The Christmas Season is one of extreme timing for me. Lots of parties. Lots of gift buying and volunteering!
For me, Christmas is all about making the days magical for the kids, as well as instilling the spirit of the time to adults who may have lost their way.

Remember that Christmas has a special meaning to all of us. Each of us remembers this time in their own way. And it's great to have kids who can remind you of the better things in life!

PUB NIGHT:
We had a small yet festive get together for SPARTAN Pub Night.
Kudos to Tom who got there VERY early to grab a seat and start the festivities off in style.
You guys drained the purse to its few pennies...WELL DONE! LOL
That's why it was there.
And the laughs were great. It was hard to believe that three hours went by!

THE TRADES:
The Trade Deadline was December 15th this year.

Trading had a lot to do with balancing the teams this year.
Lokomotive was top heavy with good forwards.
Dynamo required those men, and traded to Lokomotive some defensive potential.

I welcome each man into their new position.
Get acclimated and get your new teams in gear!

THE MATCHES:
LOKOMOTIVE:
After a good start, Lokomotive has been attempting to find itself.
Getting beaten by teams that we should have beaten is frustrating.

Subbing and communication problems have plagued this team for a while.
In addition...the lack of defensive men means that the defenders were often tired.

Ramon returns to the team, and this should offer some new blood.
I look forward to seeing the results going forward.

ENERGIE:
The players that operate as a team have really pushed you forward.

Your subbing and team play are excellent.
But there's still an issue when you're down...players hang onto their shifts and that's of little use.

Remember as well to keep your tempers in check!
Accidents happen...and if you cause such, be apologetic and man up.
There's a big difference between a well meaning challenge and a dirty one.

I have high hopes for you in the new year!
Will ENERGIE replace Lokomotive as the team to beat?

DYNAMO:
Where can we start?

One of the greatest challenges on this team has been attendance!
Yes, I know it stinks losing every game, but missing games isn't the answer.
You now have two very good forwards, so it's time to dig deep and get the results!

Communication is essential for this team.
As well as getting open for the easy passes.

And remember that this is a REC league.
IF you fell and player, be man enough to apologize and help them up.
A sincerity goes far in maintaining this league's integrity!

THE BARON's THOUGHTS

FIRST YEAR COMING TO A CLOSE!

The Baron in Earlier Days
As the first year of indoor comes to a close, the Baron wants to take a look back at the best and worst of his teams.

ENERGIE:
What Works:
Out of all the teams, you have the best record for subbing.
I never see you guys gassed out there (except for long periods of non whistles).

You guys never give up, no matter who you play against.
From start to finish, it's 100% or go home.

Always Attacking!
I have not seen a game where you don't have a tonne of chances.
At some point these will pay off.

What Doesn't Work:
Lack of communication.
More often than not, goals scored against you are a result of non talking.

The Cherry Picker needs to be active and reside only on their half of the field.
He also needs to attack Defenders, hoping to catch a cough up of the ball.

DYNAMO:
What Works:
Always improving. The team is getting better each game.
And that's good for a shot at the playoffs.

The Goals are coming.
The team is scoring goals, which is a far cry from the first few games.

What Doesn't Work:
Lack of Communication!
Let your team mates know what you're up to doing.
That allows them to plan their attacks or defense

Subbing
Some of you are not doing the 2.5 minutes and subbing off.
If you're tired or not, it's time to make room for your comrades!

LOKOMOTIVE:
What Works:
Talent.
This team is so talented. When you hit that "synergy" this team can't be beaten.

Attacking
This team has many goals, and many shots on net. Keep it up!

What Doesn't Work:
Lack of Subbing.
People are playing at 55.3% efficiency.
Ain't no way you're going to win with those stats.
Sub often, keep fresh legs going, and see the results.

Communication:
If you're not going to speak, you're not going to win.
From defending to attacking, this team won't gel because they refuse to talk.
Which is odd, considering most of you are big mouths! :)
