LOKOMOTIVE MAKES IT THREE IN A ROW

BLACK SPARTANS TOP WORTHY OPPONENTS

Cory goes after the Ball!
How our Heroes Performed Sunday:

ENERGIE:
Unfortunately, only six men showed up for this exciting match between our guys and visiting Red Devils.

With Baron saving 34 out of 41 shots, ENERGIE proved why the name fits their style of play.

The Team never gave up, and made some quality attacks. No one showed themselves to be out of the game, and gave it their all.

That's the type of spirit that we relish on ENERGIE. And it was, perhaps, one of the most fun games that we played.

LOKOMOTIVE:
The Blacks are on a roll, now winning three of four games this year, despite some stiff competition.

With Baron subbing in for the Greys, and Trevor missing for the first half, an untested Keeper kept the game close.

What's even better, is that with their team marking our top scorers, the other men on the team stepped it up and ensured that Lokomotive would come on top Sunday.

That's great playing, and even better team work.

Let's see what transpires this Sunday!

LOKOMOTIVE MAKES IT TWO

SPIRITED ENERGIE SIDE DEFEATED IN LAST MINUTES
The action was furious in Spartan vs Spartan
The Baron's assessment of the game:

ENERGIE:
This side played it smart, hunkering down for defensive moments and making it difficult for their opponents to score. There was a lot of good action where a mass of men simply blocked any shots made by Lokomotive.

On the offence, you guys had few chances, as Lokomotive held most of the possession and movement. But those chances were maximized and yielded some great results.

Overall, I beheld a team of guys that gave it their all for 90% of the game. Subbing was pretty good and energy was high.

The Penalty Shot that made it 5-3 had a really adverse affect on the team. And it really made me disappointed that some on Energie decided at that junction to simply roll over and die.

I've seen games where we were totally outclassed, by teams WAY better than Lokomotive. And you continued to press until the REF blew his final whistle. In this game, down by two with 4-5 minutes to go, many of you decided the game yourselves.

You let your team mates down...the ones that were actually trying to play. You let ME down by behaving like you didn't deserve to be on my pitch. Never...EVER...will I wish to see that again.

If you can't continue with the game, please get off the field and find a way to suck it up. Things will happen. But I assembled ENERGIE to have fun and not to give up...and this is the first time you really have.

This is the last time I will chat about this unfortunate behaviour.

LOKOMOTIVE:
Congratulations...you guys made it two in a row.
And both teams weren't push overs.

The attack was firing on all cylinders! It was impressive to witness the control, the movement, and the communication in the game. Things can only get better through continued use of the new formation.

An ominous indication of weakness on the team seems to point to our lapses. Each time we have a defensive break down, our opponent has a gift one on one with Trevor. In fact, in the past two games four of the six goals were due to our back end issues. We'll need to address that going forward. If the team can fix it, there's nothing stopping Lokomotive from getting into the top four.

Another issue seems to be with scoring.
I counted eight open net misses and seven cross bar and post rebounds.
This could have buried ENERGIE early in the game...but instead it galvanized them!
On the pre game warm up, work on your shooting please!

TWO WEEK SPORTS UPDATE

LOKOMOTIVE PICKS UP STEAM WITH IMPORTANT WIN!

Trevor Makes that All important Save

ENERGIE UPDATE:
Morale hasn't diminished, despite a few close losses against old foes.

It's good to see that spirits remain high, and that our Greys don't give up at any point in the game.
That speaks volumes on the kind of tenacity this team brings to the field.

The Team Work between players remains one of the greatest attributes of the ENERGIE brand name.
Scott and Terry have done tremendous work to get this group to this level.

I believe that we can do more.
Baby steps, but every game, your Captain and Assistant Captain will give you advice on team dynamics.
Use it as you will...but to make improvements there needs to be a concerted effort.
And that's what the game is all about!

LOKOMOTIVE UPDATE:
The first game of the year was a blow out.
But it didn't reflect what truly occurred on the field.

We maintained a constant attack against their net.
We also missed 4-5 sure goals.
This made the difference in the overall scheme of things.
We can't win if we can't score.

There was also a formation adjustment, which needed a game to consider.

Our second game of the year was truly a work of art, save for a few missed strokes.
Team work was paramount in the success column.

At the end, we lingered a bit too much on field, costing up the initiative countless times.
Remember to hit the side lines every 3-4 minutes.

The new formation worked well, but at times we kept the "D" thin.
This was the only reason they scored two of their three goals.

The only reason why we didn't win by more than two goals was due to their exceptional Keeper.
I mean, who makes saves like that? LOL
Without a man of that mastery, Black could have run of the score into the double digits.

It's going to be a bunch of work to get to where we need to be.
But once we get a few wins under our belt, morale will improve.
