SPARTAN VS SPARTAN CLASH

LOKOMOTIVE WINS GAME IN HIGH FLYING FINISH

Brad goes for the Goal!
SPARTAN DERBY CLAIMS FIRST BLOOD
It was a furious and desperate clash on the pitch as Dynamo and Lokomotive squared off for the first Spartan Cup game.

Lokomotive proved to be the better team in the first half.
Led by the indomitable Captain Stephen, They scored two unanswered offerings in the first.

"I felt that the lads were really stoked for this game," related Captain Stephen, " and it showed in their efforts."

At half time, Captain Jason of Dynamo let loose with a flurry of beatings and admonishments.

"I felt it important to tell the guys what I thought," told the leader of the Greens," and I think it worked to an extent after the crying stopped"

In the second half, it appeared that Lokomotive would seal the deal with a nifty shot into the net.

But Dynamo clawed back, scoring three times, including some great headers by Chris.

Lokomotive answered in typical style, going up by one.

In the dying seconds, a flurry from Super Star Sean and Energizer Brad failed to pass by the hands of Ross.

With one game played, Lokomotive leads the Spartan Derby over Dynamo and Energie.

ENERGIE:
Our heroes in Grey certainly showed that their ongoing efforts were yielding results.

With solid Keeping and some near misses, Energie kept the score tied at nil to the half.

Into the second half, and the lads put on display after display, keeping their rivals off the score sheet.

But then...disaster!
A lapse in discipline, and with the man advantage the visitors scored their first of the game.
They quickly pocketed another, making it 2 nil.

But Energie lived up to their name, and made attack after attack, netting one and nearly tying it with a save from the intial and then rebound.

"The guys played well," said Captain Terry," and I think the game would have gone our way without the penalty."

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

HOW DID OUR HEROES FARE IN THE LEAGUE GAMES?

Lokomotive ends its winning Streak!

LOKOMOTIVE BLOWS CYLINDERS!
After an impressive first two games, our Blacks had a tough time getting it together on the pitch against their experienced opponents.

"Sometimes you just have games where nothing works," related Captain Stephen,"No matter what we did, the play was flat and uninspired. It's not a game we'd like to remember, but it'll serve as a warning that we need to play each game as a team."

Pundits were left wondering over the lack of movement within the Lokomotive team.
"Very poor communication and subbing could be the epitaph of this game," commented TSN's Jason De Vos," We have not seen this from a fine club like Lokomotive, and I would hate to be in the dressing room with Captain Stephen".

DYNAMO WORKS IT OUT!
With their first two games under their belt, Captain Jason was immersed with a new plan and strategy.

"We needed something to build the team," Captain Jason said in a post game interview," and I think we delivered. Our opponents had a crazy good Keeper with them, and he basically saved the game for them. I felt that any other man would have got us at least a tie"

ENERGIE POWERS THROUGH!
After two games, Energie was faced with the League leading team who has won the Cup since its inception.

"I basically came in with the fact that this was not going to be an easy game," Captain Terry commented," and I think the lads did well. We had a few chances and even Baron almost scored. It's always a night to remember when the high flying Energie is in the house, and this was no exception."

LOKOMOTIVE DEFEATS SEASONED OPPONENT

A STRONG EFFORT FROM THE BLACK SHIRTS GETS THEIR FIRST WIN!

Here's the recap on Pitch:

DYNAMO:
There were some chances on the pitch this evening with our boys in Green.

Their opponents, though, proved to be superior on this day, with their fancy footwork and dashes to the net.

"I felt that they had prepared very well for the game," stated Captain Jason," and had reviewed the tapes from our last game. Clearly the better team won. We will be adjusting our team to focus upon our strengths and giving a better accounting of ourselves next game"

ENERGIE:
The Greys were up against the team who beat Lokomotive last week.

The game heated up early, when the Hammers Keeper took out one of the good guys with a leading tackle.
After that, the REF seemed to lose focus in the game.

"It was a hard felt loss," commented Terry in the post game interview," and the REF didn't help matters. It's sad that the plays went to the dirtier side, something that we can't allow in this level of play. The league will be getting notice that the REF's need to call the plays honestly."

Owner Baron was quick to side with his Captain, indicating that the League has been given a request to review the way the officiating has been done.

LOKOMOTIVE:
Fans and team mates were ecstatic when the final whistle was blown.

Despite their opponent's best efforts, including pulling the Keeper as a striker in the final minutes, the heroes in Black emerged victorious.

"The lads were on their game today," said Captain Stephen,"securing a two goal margin in the first half. Wayne played very well on his first game as a Spartan, and the rest of the team rallied around him. I'm pleased with our win, although our opponents were lucky not to be down by more."
