CONVINCING WIN IS CULMINATION OF MONTHS OF TEAM WORK
SPARTAN FANS RELISH THE NEW TEAM |
After winning the first C-Cup in a smashing fashion, the Spartans, despite great plays, failed to ever hoist that trophy again.
But this year fans felt a difference. With the likes of newcomers Scott and Kris, as well as the improvements to old tymers such as Tyler and Anders, fans felt this was the year.
Numerous second season injuries didn't give the fans what they wanted. But Coach Baron knew that this was the year.
"The final piece in the machinery was team work," said Baron in a pre game interview," when we had that, we couldn't be beaten".
This year, Fan's weren't to be disappointed.
The fun started quickly, and it was soon realized that things weren't going to change.
By the half, the good guys were up by five goals to none.
"It's great to see the team work together in this manner," the Baron told reporters.
Darlington Crew, the perennial opponents in this post season affair, were able to capitalize on an error and ended Mike's clean sheet.
But the margin of goals was quickly restored moments later.
After that one, the game became more relaxed, as the Spartans kept their opponents from any real chances.
"I'm proud of my lads," Baron said in the post game interview.
Fans were elated at the display.
Oshawa pubs and bars were filled with drinking fans, and the economy is predicted to rise 2.1%.
