SPARTANS HUMBLED IN LOSS

BEATEN BY TEAM OF GREAT POTENTIAL
Stone's Throw is a Top Team for a Reason!
It was the game that almost didn't happen.

"The Stone Throw's Captain and I decided to have a scrimmage game," told Coach Baron," after the Ref didn't show. But, 40 minutes later there he is. But he had to leave by 8pm to pick up his kids, so the game was shortened to allow for this..."

The Spartans quickly showed that they were no match for this 9 man team. In the first 20 minutes, they were up 2 - 0.

"It was horrible," said F'n J," Dave bent over to tie his shoe and I saw his soccer butt."

"Hey, that's my schtick!" yelled an absent Kevin.

Although Stone's Throw proved to be much better in the first 25 minutes, the Spartans proved to be products of a late start.

They improved their team work, but were continuously shut down despite some on field heroics up front by the Baron.

In fact, the only shot on net came from Anders, who tried a variety of clever and wierd moves to let a blooper into the 18 that was snatched up by the goalie.

"Had to try something," the ex-Bayern Muenchen player replied.

Mark, goaltender for the second game, was instrumental in keeping the Spartans from getting buried.

"Overall, there's not much to be ashamed about," said Captain Baron,"they were the better team, and I think we learned a lot from this game."
