SPIRITED ENERGIE SIDE DEFEATED IN LAST MINUTES
The action was furious in Spartan vs Spartan |
ENERGIE:
This side played it smart, hunkering down for defensive moments and making it difficult for their opponents to score. There was a lot of good action where a mass of men simply blocked any shots made by Lokomotive.
On the offence, you guys had few chances, as Lokomotive held most of the possession and movement. But those chances were maximized and yielded some great results.
Overall, I beheld a team of guys that gave it their all for 90% of the game. Subbing was pretty good and energy was high.
The Penalty Shot that made it 5-3 had a really adverse affect on the team. And it really made me disappointed that some on Energie decided at that junction to simply roll over and die.
I've seen games where we were totally outclassed, by teams WAY better than Lokomotive. And you continued to press until the REF blew his final whistle. In this game, down by two with 4-5 minutes to go, many of you decided the game yourselves.
You let your team mates down...the ones that were actually trying to play. You let ME down by behaving like you didn't deserve to be on my pitch. Never...EVER...will I wish to see that again.
If you can't continue with the game, please get off the field and find a way to suck it up. Things will happen. But I assembled ENERGIE to have fun and not to give up...and this is the first time you really have.
This is the last time I will chat about this unfortunate behaviour.
LOKOMOTIVE:
Congratulations...you guys made it two in a row.
And both teams weren't push overs.
The attack was firing on all cylinders! It was impressive to witness the control, the movement, and the communication in the game. Things can only get better through continued use of the new formation.
An ominous indication of weakness on the team seems to point to our lapses. Each time we have a defensive break down, our opponent has a gift one on one with Trevor. In fact, in the past two games four of the six goals were due to our back end issues. We'll need to address that going forward. If the team can fix it, there's nothing stopping Lokomotive from getting into the top four.
Another issue seems to be with scoring.
I counted eight open net misses and seven cross bar and post rebounds.
This could have buried ENERGIE early in the game...but instead it galvanized them!
On the pre game warm up, work on your shooting please!
