SPARTANS LOSE FIRST OF THE SEASON

SINGLE GOAL BREAKS THE SHUT OUT

Baron talks with Reporters

The new Spartans are proving to be a force on the field these days.

In the days of old, the Spartans would concede a few sloppy goals, come back and attempt to make a game of it.

These days our local heroes are giving it their all, and coming up with impressive results.

Out of the gate, the Spartan defense made short work of their opponent's attacks, blunting the attacks and sending a counter to the opposite goal.

At half time, it was nil to nil.

And that's how it remained until the 72 minute when an unlucky bounce from the Keeper landed on the feet of an unmarked Village Inn Forward. With all net in front of him, it wasn't a hard goal.

The good guys kept it real for the next 18 minutes, having numerous chances, but nothing to hit the twine.

"It was a great game," commented Spartan Owner Baron,"with many missed opportunities on both sides. What we need to do is play better, and more like a team. My gut feeling is that this team will only get better as they get to the "GELLING" point.
