THREE WEEK UPDATE

SPARTANS FALL INTO A STREAK

In simpler times, this was THE mode of playing
Baron:
It's been a while since I've updated the blog.

I've seen some good playing, and I've seen some bad results.

Remember that a team is judged by the opponents that beat them.

In our League, it's important to be the judge of your own actions. Often the harshest critic, you need to reconcile with yourself if the job you did on the field deserves accolades.

When you find yourself against a team of overwhelming talent, and the score is getting up there, look at it this way. The pressure is off. So try some things that you wouldn't normally do. What difference does it make?

The only way you're going to get better is through training and experience.
And the way of that path is through just doing it.

TWO WEEK UPDATE

ENERGIE DROPS TWO -- LOKOMOTIVE DROPS ONE AND TIES

Trevor makes the Saves
Our Two Week Recap Starts Now...

ENERGIE:
IT's been a tough couple of games.
We played against a really tough team, and they kept up the momentum and scored often. They were clearly the better team, and the result reflected that fact.
Last week we played a team that was carried by its Keeper. Despite some fine work by us, their Keeper once again saved them from a tie or defeat.

It's easy to fall into a pit of despair.
The League didn't separate the top teams from the bottom teams, something that didn't contribute to any justice.
But we need to look at the way our team performed.
There was no intention to give up, and until the final whistle there were counter attacks.
Learn from these losses, and improve for the better.

LOKOMOTIVE:
After a string of three wins, I think that we got a little a head of ourselves.

Our record was shattered by some really terrible football.
Leaving the Defence in shatters really doesn't aid in our development.
By improving our defensive play, we can lead a furious counter attack and hopefully net one.

Last week we faced a determined opponent without our two top scorers.
It would have made sense to fold and just give in.

Instead, we pressed our opponents, met their physical play, and got them frustrated.
They thought that they had an easy win.
We showed them that team work can create opportunities where none are expected.
And that's good Football!
